Actividades previas a la elaboración del CV

Las siguientes actividades te ayudarán a prepararte antes de crear tu CV.

Una vez terminadas, puedes volver a las instrucciones de la Tarea 1  acceder a Europass CV.  

 

Actividad 1: The categories of the CV - Gap-filling

Completa las siguientes definiciones con las categorías del currículum vitae.

WORK EXPERIENCE / LANGUAGES / PERSONAL DETAILS / EDUCATION / SKILLS

Your  are the basic pieces of information so people can find you. It includes you full name, phone number and email address.

Your   is a list of your previous jobs. You usually write the job title, the company name, the dates, and your main tasks.

refers to your academic background. You list your degrees, the schools or universities you attended, and the dates you graduated.

Your are the things you are good at. This includes technical stuff like "Excel" or "Coding" and personal qualities like "Leadership" or "Teamwork".

The category of " " refers to your ability to communicate in different languages and your level in each one (for example: "Spanish - Native" or "English - B2").

Actividad 2: Identificar responsabilidades y habilidades
Identifica si los verbos de acción representan una Responsabilidad (R) o una Habilidad (H).

Responsibilities or skills?

Di si los planteamientos son verdaderos or falsos.

Pregunta 1

"I prepared customer orders" is a skill.

Pregunta 2

"I can communicate with clients in different languages" is a skill.

Pregunta 3

"I assisted in organising stock" is a responsibility.

Pregunta 4

"I am able to work in a team" is a skill.

NB: Fíjate que "I am able" también se puede decir "I can" (puedo).

Actividad 3_Verbos precisos

En un currículum profesional, debemos evitar verbos genéricos como do, make o help. Sustituye los verbos en negrita por una opción más precisa extraída de la lista de verbos de hostelería y comercio que hemos estudiado.

Frase con verbo genérico: I do customer service.
Frase con verbo preciso: I customers.

Frase con verbo genérico: I make orders.
Frase con verbo preciso: I orders.

Frase con verbo genérico: I help in the kitchen.
Frase con verbo preciso: I food.

Actividad 5_ Work Experince - Past Simple Forms

Contexto: Para que una empresa entienda tu valor, no basta con decir dónde trabajaste; debes describir qué acciones realizaste con precisión. En inglés, esto requiere usar el Past Simple de los verbos de acción

Instrucciones: Completa las siguientes descripciones de puestos de trabajo reales. Elige el verbo adecuado de la lista de infinitivos y escríbelo en su forma correcta de pasado simple.

Verbos (Infinitivo): organise / prepare / serve/ advise / handle

  1. 1. Waiter at "The Sun Café" (3 years): I customers in a fast-paced environment and took orders.
    2. Kitchen Assistant (1 year): I fresh ingredients and supported the main chef every day.
    3. Shop Assistant at "Murcia Fashion" (2 years): I cash and credit card payments at the till with 100% accuracy.
    4. Sales Representative (4 years): I clients about the best products for their specific needs.
    5. Warehouse Worker (5 years): I the stock and checked the inventory twice a week.
